Mt. Everest
The Everest Region, or Khumbu, is the crown jewel of Himalayan adventure, dominated by Mount Everest (8,848 m).
The region features towering peaks, glaciers, and ancient monasteries, reflecting the rich Sherpa culture. Beyond Everest, peaks like Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and Thamserku create a breathtaking skyline.
Trekkers explore the classic Everest Base Camp Trek, hidden gems like Gokyo Valley, the Three Passes Trek, and peaks such as Island Peak, Lobuche East, and Mera Peak. Spiritual travelers are drawn to Tengboche Monastery, home of the Mani Rimdu festival. Villages like Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, and Pangboche offer cultural immersion with traditional crafts and festivals.
Protected within Sagarmatha National Park, the region hosts musk deer, snow leopard, Himalayan tahr, Danphe pheasants, and rhododendron forests in spring. Everest promises not just high-altitude adventure but a journey through culture, faith, and nature, making it an ultimate Himalayan experience.
