Mt. Kailash

Mount Kailash, located in the remote western region of Tibet, is one of the most sacred mountains in the world.

Rising to about 6,638 meters, it holds deep spiritual significance for four major religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon. Hindus believe it to be the abode of Lord Shiva, while Buddhists regard it as the home of the Buddha Demchok. Despite its allure, climbing Mount Kailash is strictly prohibited out of respect for its sanctity. Pilgrims instead perform the Kora, a 52-kilometer circumambulation around the mountain, seeking spiritual purification and blessings amidst the awe-inspiring beauty of the Himalayas.
