The Yala Peak expedition is a 12-day trekking and non-technical climbing adventure in the Langtang region. Starting from Syabrubesi, the trek passes through forests, terraced farmlands, and traditional Tamang villages, gradually ascending to Kyanjin Gompa and Yala Peak Base Camp. The summit of Yala Peak (5,500 m) offers expansive views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma (Tibet), and Manaslu ranges. Accommodation is in tea houses along the approach and tents at high camp. This itinerary combines cultural exposure, scenic trekking, and a manageable high-altitude climb, ideal for first-time climbers or those seeking a short Himalayan adventure.

Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)
- Pick up at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel.
- Short briefing about the trek and climb.
- Overnight at hotel.
Day 2Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,460 m) – 7–8 hrs
- Scenic drive through hills, valleys, and terraced farmlands.
- Overnight in lodge at Syabrubesi, gateway to Langtang.
Day 3Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,480 m) – 6–7 hrs
- Trek begins following Langtang Khola.
- Pass through rhododendron and bamboo forests.
- Overnight in lodge.
Day 4 Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,430 m) – 6–7 hrs
- Gradual uphill through forests and meadows.
- Arrive at Langtang Village, a traditional Tamang settlement.
- Overnight in lodge.
Day 5Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m) – 3–4 hrs
- Easy trek with wide Himalayan views.
- Explore Kyanjin Gompa, yak cheese factory, and surrounding monasteries.
- Overnight in lodge.
Day 6Acclimatization Day in Kyanjin Gompa
- Optional hikes:
- Tserko Ri (4,984 m) – panoramic view of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and Shishapangma (Tibet).
- Explore Kyanjin Glacier and Langtang Valley.
- Overnight in lodge.
Day 7Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Peak Base Camp (4,800 m) – 5 hrs
- Trek through yak pastures and alpine meadows.
- Arrive at Base Camp and prepare for climb.
- Overnight in tented camp.
Day 8Summit Yala Peak (5,500 m) – Return to Base Camp – 7–8 hrs
- Early morning climb to summit.
- Non-technical ascent with gradual snow slopes.
- Panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kanga, Shishapangma (Tibet), and Manaslu range.
- Descend back to Base Camp.
- Overnight in tented camp.
Day 9Base Camp to Kyanjin Gompa – 4 hrs
- Easy return trek.
- Rest and celebrate the climb.
- Overnight in lodge.
Day 10Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel – 6–7 hrs
- Descend through Langtang Valley.
- Overnight in lodge.
Day 11 Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi – 5–6 hrs
- Final trekking day through lush forest and Tamang villages.
- Overnight in lodge.
Day 12Drive Syabrubesi to Kathmandu – 7–8 hrs
- Return drive to Kathmandu.
- Transfer to hotel.
- Overnight in hotel.
Day 13Final Departure
- Transfer to airport for international flight.
